My name is Judy T. Sweeney and I love learning about the natural world. My husband, Chip, and I met in Sitka, taught school on three different continents and followed our hearts back to Alaska to be closer to family. Tarah and Max live in Anchorage and have given us two adorable grandchildren, Reef and Zaia. We love traveling out of state with our other kids, Rylee and Gabe, as often as we can.
Teaching science and being a STEAM elementary and middle school teacher for 20 years in the US, Germany, China, and UAE gives me a global perspective. I am a life-long student and earned a master's degree in Geosciences, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and am a Language Development Specialist. I love thinking and writing about science. Other adventures include researching Grevy’s Zebras, Admiralty Island brown bears, and coaching Odyssey of the Mind, sailing, and robotics.
Being part of the Denali PEAK team rocks, especially using inquiry with PEAK scientists at Science and Story each Thursday. I hope to see you soon!
